The six winning students from St. Joseph School Invention Convention attended the 2008 Connecticut Invention convention on May 3rd at the University of Connecticut campus. There were over 600 students representing schools all over the state.  Jacob Nedzweckas and Dominic Rovero represented grade 6, Rachel Jones and Ryan Kelly from grade 7 and Tim Gaudion and Emma Northridge represented grade 8.  Emma and Jacob received recognition for their inventions as being environmentally safe.  Dominic won an award for his smudge free invention.  He came home with a $100 dollar savings bond and software from Microsoft.  Ryan Kelly received a special award given only to 7th and 8th grade students for his invention called the Bubblizer.  He was selected for the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering . He will attend a special reception on May 21 in New Haven at the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University followed by a dinner at the New Haven Lawn Club.  I would like to thank all the students for an awesome job on all their inventions. A special congratulations to the six students that represented St. Joseph School. You all did an awesome job and we are very proud of you!
